Burning Red Itchy Scalp:
Dry Scalp, Dandruff, Burning Red Itchy Scalp
Causes & Remedies
OK, you've got some issues
with itchy scalp, burning scalp dry or flaky dandruff scalp conditions
If your scalp is suffering from any of the
following:
- Incessant itching that driving you up the
wall
- Dry unsightly flaking on your scalp dusting
your shoulders with the highly visible telltale
specks and flakes
- An uncomfortable rash or burning redness in
patches especially around your ears and/or
neck
- Sensitivities or tingling when using certain
kids of shampoos
Then you will know how frustrating and/or
embarrassing it can be to be fighting a highly visible
and seemingly losing battle with dandruff or to have to
fight the constant urge to scratch at
your itchy scalp to try to relieve it.
Dandruff and
itchy scalp is one the most common complaints as well as one
of the most misunderstood problems. Many people will tell
you that Dandruff is caused by the process of continual
shedding of skin cells on your scalp. It can be caused by
a fungus called melassezia globbosa or from toxins, or by
pollutants and products that have built up on the scalp,
particularly products like silicone - a cheap commonly
used artificial shine enhancer in many supermarket
commercially marketed dandruff dandruff shampoos & conditioners.
Lumps bumps and scalp sores are also a sign that the scalp is highly
irritated or you' aggravated a
sensitivity.
At the very minimum when your scalp's balance is
disturbed, (which is really what is behind these
symptoms) it can lead to the natural process of shedding
your cells getting a little out of hand resulting in an
unsightly condition known as Seborrhoeic Dermatitis (dandruff) flaking, crusting and/or
discomfort from itchiness - or
itchy scalp scalp.
What most people do when they see the dandruff -
the tell tale white sprinkling of flakes littering their
shoulders - is rush out and buy an anti-dandruff shampoo.
This often seems to ease the problem for a while before
the problem returns and the sufferer realizes that the
treatment does not offer a permanent solution to their
flaky scalp woes...just a temporary fix before the
condition returns sometimes with unwelcome extra issues
to add to the flaking!
This is because most treatments in a bottle only
target the symptoms, not the cause. You could liken doing
this to trying to pour water as fast as you can into a
leaking holey bucket, & not stopping to see what
caused the holes in the first place. The sensible thing
to do obviously is to fix the holes - and make sure you
eliminate whats causing the holes too!

Irritation Quickly, Easily & Naturally - 100%

Considering that there is so much evidence that
these treatments do not give long term relief and can
even be detrimental, it is surprising it is still common
practice to use anti-dandruff shampoos to treat the
symptoms instead of treating the cause of why our scalps
flake and itch in the first place.
Most people don't understand the paradox of what
really causes our scalps to react this way in the first
place and why our bodies respond so aggressively '. often
to many agents that are emerging as the common cause of
many - and most scalp problems.
Often the very stuff we use on a day to day
basis (when the pores on our scalps are steamed wide
open) to wash and treat our hair with can also hides more
answers to why we are suffering from so many scalp
disorders in this modern society. Of course there is a
little more to the story than just the products we use,
and the good news is there is a simple answer to this
"other part" of the equation and this can be dealt to
naturally - without breaking the budget and is an
enjoyable experience (pampering yourself is always good).
More on this later, but its important to know how to
avoid "pouring more fuel on the burning fire"!
Scientific evidence shows that there are SO many
ingredients hidden in shampoos (especially anti dandruff
ones) that our bodies become sensitized to. With the huge
rise in sensitivities or allergies of the scalp some
scientists decided to find out why and what impact
chemicals are having on our bodies. Facts are emerging
that ingredients once thought to be benign can cause
havoc with our scalps natural process of shedding cells
and sebum balance''some ingredients are even used in
engine degreasers and in scientific tests to induce skin
rashes to test new anti-itchy and anti-rash drugs. One
common one is known to erode hair follicles and combined
with other processes or chemicals added to shampoos can
even be carcinogenic.
|
Years ago scientists believed that the skin was
a barrier to the environment that did not
absorb substances that came in contact with it,
and so did not understand the possible negative
impact of ingredients in shampoos and other
personal products on our bodies. We now
know this is not the
case.
If you understand the dramatic impact of what
we choose to use on our scalps on a day to day
basis positively or negatively can have, you
can make better choices about what you expose
your scalp to, then you can empower yourself to
begin to eliminate your scalp condition
permanently, improve hair condition without
spending big bucks on treatments and solutions
to try to undo the damage that our bodies will
naturally deal with if not being bombarded with
more irritating sensitizers and allergens that
we don know we are using.
If you know all the facts and why our
scalp's react the way they do you can make
sense of the reason why these treatments don
give us relief for long and you may even be
unknowingly be aggravating your symptoms making
it worse.

The great news you will discover is that for
most of us relief is only minutes away without needing
the drugs now that you have the knowledge that is not
readily shared with by those who prefer to keep selling
us treatments in a bottle. We can restore balance to our
bodies and our scalps without stress and hard work or
inconvenience. Not to mention the boost our hair gets by
treating dry scalp and lack lustre hair to a nourishing
moisturising mask whenever you feel like spoiling
yourself at home.
So what about anti-dandruff treatments such as anti-dandruff shampoo that are supposed to treat these things? Well
while it's true that many of these do contain ingredients
that help to stop flaking and/or kill bacteria that
manifest as dandruff such as ketoconizole or salicylic
acid. As stated earlier, they do the job of masking the
symptoms temporarily, but as you might have already
discovered, the irony is that most of them also contain
the irritating ingredients that caused your problem in
beginning! So what else can we do?
That leads us to Natural Remedies as
alternatives which can definitely help to soothe and heal
your scalp (as long as you are eliminating the cause at
the same time)'.got you wondering about scalp home
remedies? So what benefits are there in using a natural

also derived from a type of tree bark. Neem is an effective
fungicide and insecticide (great for head lice when used with
geranium, rosemary, lavender and eucalyptus oils). In clinical
studies Neem extracts and oil were found to be as effective as
coal tar and cortisone in treating psoriasis with none of the
usual side effects accompanying the use of Neem as there was
with Coal tar and cortisone.
Neem extracts and oil removes redness and itching when applied
directly to your scalpand it's a great skin
conditioner.
There are also many active ingredients such as
salicylic acid which you will find in many
anti dandruff shampoos which can also be extracted from Willow bark
instead of chemically manufactured options.

of, not just the guilt free pampering session you'll be
giving yourself) that you can create at home from these
and/or many other oils - even from your garden or kitchen

society "lost" them.

causes that we are not educated about & what to avoid

Itchy
Dry Flaky Scalp Natural Home Remedies There are
many powerful natural remedies you can use to soothe &
heal scalp conditions including, Dry,
Burning Red Itching Scalp,
Dandruff, Itchy scalp, with natural home scalp remedies containing
Oils such as Rosemary, Lavender, Tea Tree & Neem
oil.
There are many home remedies and natural scalp
treatments proven to be effective in the treatment of 95%
of scalp conditions - with powerful anti-dandruff
itchy scalp fighting ingredients that are healing, soothing
and are naturally drug free. These remedies effectively
treat problems from scalp psoriasis, dry, itchy burning, flaky &
sore scalp conditions to an allergic reaction.
Dry
scalp can feel tight , a sensation that is
sometimes accompanied by flakiness. It is often the
result of natural oils being stripped from our scalps by
the frequent use of shampoos, hair dyes and or other hair products resulting
in a disturbance to the natural balance of our sebum and
ph (acid mantle).
Dandruff (or
seborrheic dermatitis) as most of us know is
the process of continual shedding of skin cells on our
scalps. Often the cause of
dandruff is simply the result of toxins, pollutants and
products that have built up on the scalp particularly
products like silicone - a cheap commonly used artificial
shine enhancer in many conditioners. When the natural
balance of our scalps are disturbed, this creates the
perfect environment for the fungus Melassezia Globbosa to
move in and thrive. This is when the natural process of
shedding our cells gets a little out of hand resulting in
an unsightly condition known as Seborrhoeic Dermatitis
(fancy name for dandruff) and we see the highly visible tell-tale signs
of flaking and crusting. The accompanying itch and urge
to scratch are often made worse by the multiplication of
the fungal yeast pityrosporum-ovale (having one big party
on your scalp)! Another follow on effect of this is that
the relentless scratching by the sufferer can cause small
lesions which weep and ooze or become infected.
Scalp lumps bumps and sores are also
common when the scalp is highly irritated or a
sensitivity has been aggravated by the use of shampoos
that contain stripping ingredients.
One of these is Sodium Laureth/Lauryl
Sulphate is widely used in dishwashing liquids, car
washes (degreasers). It is a skin irritant (they
sometimes use it in tests to irritate skin to test
products) and is known to dy out our scalps, corrode hair
follicles and damage your hair and are found in MOST big
brand shampoos....there are others to look out for too
that are potentially carcinogenic. If your scalp is
burning, red and/or itchy you could be suffering from the
effects of a sentitized scalp, from an allergic reaction
to a substance either from prolonged use or from a new
substance. Sensitivities and allergic reactions are
related but there is a difference between the two...see
below:
Sensitizers:
A sensitivity is the result of a response by our immune system
from being exposed to a substance or foreign body that it
wants to keep out of the body. A sensitivity normally
develops over several years (or months in children). The
reason sensitizing chemicals often slip under the radar
is because the first use of a sensitizer (e.g. from a
synthetic colorant in hair dye) may not trigger a
reaction, but subsequent or repeated use can cause a
person to develop an allergic reaction to even very low
levels of the original or related substance. A reaction
can hit you seemingly suddenly, when really it is the
result of a build-up of your immune system's response
over a period of time.
Irritants: Irritants on the other
hand are quite different to sensitizers and allergens which
involve the immune system. An irritant is a non-allergic
inflammatory reaction at the site of where the substance was
applied (yes sensitizers can cause rashes elsewhere on the
body). The difference is that dermatitis (a non fungal
dandruff) is commonly the result of irritation directly from a
product, whereas allergens and sensitizers (especially the
highly sensitizing products used in hair dyes and colorants and
henna tattoos) will effect your immune system in a way that is
difficult to get at because once you develop a sensitivity,
it's with you forever! Common hair dyes contain some of the
most carcinogenic and sensitizing ingredients of all. If you have ever had a fake
tattoo that is henna based, then beware - there have been
many cases of severe allergic reactions to the compound
PPD (phenylenediamine) requiring hospitalization in
people who have applied a hair dye (black or dark brown
in particular) after having had a henna
tattoo.
